Mark Kroll

Principal
Dr. Kroll, until recently retired, was the chief technology officer and senior vice president for St. Jude Medical Inc., (NYSE:STJ) Cardiac Rhythm Management division. He began as vice president of the Tachycardia Business division and held various senior executive roles within St. Jude since 1995. He is now a director of Haemonetics Corp. (NYSE:HAE), Taser Intl. (NASD:TASR) along with multiple emerging growth companies.

Dr. Kroll was awarded Fellow recognition by the American College of Cardiology (FACC), and is co-author of Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator Therapy published by Kluwer of Boston. He is currently an Adjunct Professor of Biomedical Engineering at California Polytechnic State University, an Adjunct Full Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Minnesota and a faculty member for the UCLA Anderson School of Business annual program on creativity and innovation.

Dr. Kroll has been listed in Who's Who in Science and Engineering since 1992. Dr. Kroll has authored over 150 papers, invited presentations, book chapters, and abstracts. With 220 issued US patents, he is the most prolific inventor in Minnesota and the most prolific inventor of cardiac devices in the world. Dr. Kroll has lectured in 20 countries on topics including defibrillation, invention, electrical weapon safety, and medical device startups.

Dr. Kroll holds a B.S. Mathematics and M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and a M.B.A. from the University of St. Thomas.
